Canada Water Week is a nation-wide celebration of water, held each year in the third week of March to coincide with World Water Day on March 22, 2014. Organizations across the country are encouraged to participate by organizing and taking part in educational events.
We’re excited to share two MQUP books being showcased this week to promote water awareness.
First up is John Riley, author of The Once and Future Great Lakes Country, who is appearing on tonight’s episode of TVO’s The Agenda to discuss the history of the Great Lakes, their significance, and threats the lakes currently face.
This “Troubled Waters?” episode is airing tonight at 8pm (also 11pm) as part of TVO’s special programming for Water Week.
.
Later this week is the Montreal launch of Thinking with Water, edited by Cecilia Chen, Janine MacLeod and Astrida Neimanis. This event will be held held at Librairie Formats on Friday, March 21st, from 7-9 pm.
And on the same day, from 4:30-6:30pm, don’t miss the Water Walkshop! Engage your sense of water and walk along urban shores on a semi-guided tour of river rapids, urban water infrastructures, and post-industrial transformation.
