Glenn Gould: The Nature of Genius
Tuesday, October 26, 7:00–9:00 pm
Although Glenn Gould (1932–1982) was a master of 20th-century classical music, his eccentricities have often obscured the seriousness of his approach. Georges Leroux discusses his work, Partita for Glenn Gould which explores Gould’s genius, his beliefs, and why we continue to appreciate his art. Leroux even invites us to see how it is possible to follow in Gould’s footsteps. Also enjoy a screening of Genius within: the Inner Life of Glenn Gould. The film co-directors, Michèle Hozer and Peter Raymont, will be present for questions. The evening with be moderated by William Littler.
