Leave No Doubt by Team Canada and Red Wings' coach Mike Babcock is rooted in the author's "Leave No Doubt" credo. Written by Babcock and his longtime friend Rick Larsen, the credo hung on Team Canada's dressing-room wall during their historic run to Olympic gold.
Athlete or not, Leave No Doubt provides a compelling framework for excelling in life. Illuminated by revealing stories about overcoming doubt, "owning pressure," and making a difference, Leave No Doubt is based on a firm belief in everyday commitment and a step by step approach to being "better than good enough."
We invite you to tell us which part of the credo (written out below) inspires you the most and you will be entered to win a prize package which includes a Leave No Doubt rally towel and a signed copy of Leave No Doubt.
Just click on the "comments" link at the bottom of the post and leave us a note about your favourite part of the credo. Make sure to enter in a valid email address so we can notify the winner!
Leave No Doubt
That this is our game.
That this is our time.
That 14 days in February will be 2 weeks for the ages.
That every day counts.
That every meeting matters.
That every practice makes a difference.
That each one of us will rise to every occasion.
That this isn't about us, it's about our country.
That we know 33 million Canadians will attend every game.
That home ice is an advantage.
That nothing can distract us.
That nothing will stop us.
That our determination will define us.
That we are built to win.
That we are a team of character.
That we are a team of destiny.
So let the world be warned on February 28, 2010, we will …

That we know 33 million Canadians will attend every game. That’s the way it has always been since 1972 when my entire school shut down to watch the Canada/Soviet Summit Series on TV in the cafeteria. Go Canada Go!
I really like lines 5-8. Those are ideas that we can apply to everything. Too often we focus on the big event and not on the importance of the day-to-day preparation and planning. I like the reminder here that every practice makes a difference.
That every day counts.
That every meeting matters.
That every practice makes a difference.
That each one of us will rise to every occasion.
My favourite part is “That our determination will define us”.
It reminds me of that old definition of Hell, being that the last day you have on Earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.
Therefore we should all use our determination to define us.
I just came back for a visit prompted by today’s email.
Obviously I can’t enter the draw again or I certainly would.
I’d love to win a signed copy of coach Babcock’s book.
Thanks.
That this is our game.
That this is our time.
A great Life Credo to meditate on!!!
