Art Canada Institute’s eBook on Paul-Émile Borduas
The Art Canada Institute has a wonderful series of FREE online art books showcasing Canadian artists and visual culture. You can browse through the books and read about figures such as Emily Carr, Michael Snow, and Pitseolak Ashoona in a user-friendly and visually stunning format.
We’re excited to see the most recent release is on the life and work of Paul-Émile Borduas, written by François-Marc Gagnon!
Sections in the online book include Borduas’ key works, significance in Canadian history, style & technique, as well as a list of public galleries where you’ll find his work.
The book is accessible on your web browser or you can download it to your device.
In 1978, Gagnon won a Governor General’s Award for his biography of Borduas. Peter Feldstein’s English translation of Paul-Émile Borduas: A Critical Biography has been shortlisted for the 2014 Governor General’s Award for Translation.
