For Immediate Release – MONTREAL, QUEBEC, Wednesday, January 25, 2017
McGill-Queen’s University Press (MQUP) has announced plans to open an editorial office in London, UK, in May 2017. This venture will allow the Press to work with new authors and acquire publishing projects that will strengthen both our existing publishing program and provide more international content. A search for a new Acquisition Editor and a marketing support staffer is underway, with a hiring announcement expected at the London Book Fair this March.
Philip Cercone, Executive Director of MQUP, said, “This is an important next step for MQUP and reflects the global reality of today’s scholarly publishing world. This initiative is part of the Press’s vision plan to grow our international program and to better promote the entire list of our core disciplines in the UK and Europe. Our parent institutions, McGill and Queen’s universities, are enthusiastic backers of the new UK office.”
About MQUP:
Established in 1969, MQUP is a joint, not-for-profit venture of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. A Canadian university press with a global reach, we aim to advance scholarship and promote public debate.
