Today is the last day of the Association of American University Presses’ 2nd annual University Press Week. All week long, university presses have been hosting events and participating in the #UPWeek Blog Tour to celebrate the importance of scholarly publishing. For the full Blog Tour schedule, click here.
For MQUP’s Meet the Press theme, we featured Kyla Madden and Jonathan Crago, two long-standing members of the Editorial department. Read our Q&A here. For a summary of blog posts from the whole week, check out Columbia University Press’ impressive Special Edition UP Week Round-up.
On Wednesday, we partnered with the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada to present Making Knowledge Public: Engaged Scholarship and the University Press in Canada, a lunchtime event on campus as part of University Press Week. MQUP authors Louis Martin, Sherry Olson and Patricia Thornton, and Miranda Campbell discussed their experiences working on their books and publishing with a university press.
Finally, take a scroll through the AAUP’s Ideas Unbound gallery of innovative projects in scholarly publishing which includes MQUP’s very own The Video Art of Sylvia Safdie, by Eric Lewis.
That wraps up University Press Week! Have a great weekend.
