The Royal Canadian Geographical Society will be hosting Can Geo Talks 2016: Inuit Oral Tradition and Franklin at the Canadian Museum of History (Ottawa) on April 12th, 2016 at 7pm.
Keynote speaker Captain Dave Woodman is the acclaimed author of two MQUP books about Sir John Franklin's ill-fated Arctic expedition, Unravelling the Franklin Mystery, 2nd Edition, and Strangers Among Us. Woodman's work concentrates on the profound importance of Inuit testimony regarding Franklin's fate, and he was the first scholar to explore the topic in depth.
Joining Captain Woodman is a panel of experts who share this passion for exploring the connection between Inuit oral knowledge and Franklin. The panel inlcudes Dr. Russell Potter, an RCGS Fellow and American academic, and author of the upcoming MQUP title Finding Franklin: The Untold Story of a 165-Year Search.
