The Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery takes place this July 7-9, 2017 at St Catherine's College Oxford. The symposium is an annual, weekend-long conference on food, its culture and its history. The oldest and most important gathering on this topic, it brings together up to 220 international scholars, journalists, chefs, scientists, sociologists, anthrolopogists—and even committed amateurs—among others, for a serious discussion about the theme at hand.
Co-editor, Natalie Cooke, will be speaking as part of the Parallel Sessions, which take place on the Saturday (July 8) in Room C at 4:30pm. Her talk will be loosely related to the her and Fiona Lucas' work with Catharine Parr Traill's Female Emigrant's Guide, and the book will be available for sale at the symposium.
The symposium's full programme can be found here.
