Join us this October for "The Art of Translation Across History and Cultures", presented by the Montreal History Group. This roundtable will discuss the translation of Sean Mill's latest book A Place in the Sun: Haiti, Haitians, and the Remaking of Quebec. 

A Place in the Sun was recently translated to French (Une place au soleil), and published by Memoir d'encrier. The roundtable will discuss the project and will include professional translator Hélène Paré, who was the translator on the project, publisher Rodney Saint-Éloi who published (with Memoir d'encrier) the French translation and translation expert Sherry Simon, author of several MQUP titles including upcoming Fall 2017 release Speaking Memory.

The event will take place in the Arts Council room at McGill University and refreshments to follow.
