The Town of Gravenhurst has declared July 11, 2012 Bethune Day.
In honour of the official opening of the new visitor facilities at Bethune Memorial House, the Town of Gravenhurst has declared July 11, 2012 Bethune Day. The community has come together to host VIP’s, delegates and media to round out their attendance of the official opening, which will include opportunities to blend culture with local attractions.

Bethune Memorial House official opening will begin at 11 am with speeches from the Honourable Tony Clement, Mr. Fang Li, Consul General for the Consulate General for the Peoples Republic of China, Mr. Li Shenqing, Vice Secretary General-Bethune Spirit Research Association, Mr. Wu Guangli, President of Bethune International Peach Hospital and Mayor Paisley Donaldson. The ceremony will also include visuals of two future sculptures Bethune in China and Bethune as a Young Man and a fly-by, by the Muskoka Flying Club.
