The Liberal Studies department at Vancouver Island University (VIU) hosts a conference each year for their students to which a guest speaker is invited to deliver a keynote address. This year the speaker was professor and author John von Heyking from the University of Lethbridge, speaking on the topic of political friendship, a theme that is frequently discuss in the Liberal Studies classes at VIU.
John von Heyking is the author of the soon to be released MQUP title The Form of Politics: Aristotle and Plato on Friendship.
